CPU

The central processing unit (CPU) is one of the main components of a computer, whose primary function is to interpret computer instructions and process data in computer software. The programmability of computers mainly refers to programming the central processor. The CPU, memory, and input/output devices are the three core components of modern computers. Before the 1970s, the CPU was composed of multiple independent units, and later developed into central processors made of integrated circuits. These highly integrated components are known as microprocessors, and the most complex circuits of the separated central processors can be made into single, small, and powerful units.
